CARVED CERAMIC workshop

A special meeting on the technique of Carved Ceramics. A workshop suitable for all levels and which aims to bring participants closer to one of the oldest techniques of ceramic decoration. Our proposal allows you to revisit ceramic carving in a modern key, allowing you to obtain results of great effect and immediate satisfaction.

ORGANIZATION AND COST

- Maximum 8 students.

- A 3-hour lesson.

- Material contribution, fresh pottery, 1st biscuit firing, glazing of the object and 2nd glazed firing included: € 78*.
*€ 74 for students and former students of the atelier.

PLAN

· introduction to ceramic techniques and in particular to the carving or fretwork technique;

· demonstration on how to obtain the intaglio/carving decoration ;

· given a fresh artefact (previously shaped by the atelier) study and planning of the most appropriate decoration to enhance the object;

· realization of the decoration studied with the ceramic carving technique;

· finishing and preparation of the object for firing in the traditional method.

After the first firing, the artefact will be waterproofed, optionally, with transparent glaze or white enamel (work carried out by the atelier).

The first firing, any glazing and second firing, will be performed at a later time and the finished work will be delivered later in agreement with the teachers.

GOALS

Develop the creativity and design process and learn the fundamentals of ceramics with particular attention to the decorative technique of carving or fretwork. A clay object will be made with the technique in question.
